Nominations are in for the 2024 Golden Globes! The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s (HFPA) 81st Golden Globe Awards will kick off the next awards season this January, and Barbenheimer and Succession are set to be the stars of the evening. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie leads the nominees with nine nods, while Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has eight. Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things are both tied for third with seven nominations apiece.

On the TV side, the final season of HBO’s Succession did not disappoint, with the award-winning show also earning nine nominations. FX’s The Bear and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building are tied for second with five nominations each.

The Golden Globes are seemingly never without controversy, in particular when it comes to the movies, shows and actors that wind up snubbed with no recognition from HFPA. This year’s most notable snubs include The Color Purple in the best musical/comedy category, Taraji P. Henson for her performance in The Color Purple and Zac Efron for his upcoming role in A24’s The Iron Claw.

Want to check out the newly nominated movies and shows? Here’s how to watch/stream/rent the best motion picture and TV show nominees for the 2024 Golden Globes, plus what you need to know about watching the actual Golden Globe Awards next month (and the complete list of nominees).
